Chamber of Commerce plea to political parties

Ahead of the local body elections later this year, the Trivandrum Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its associate organisation AWAKE Trivandrum on Monday issued an appeal to all political parties to nominate at least three competent and visionary candidates for the post of Mayor of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. 

The future Mayor must rise above ar1l considerations and possess a deep understanding of Trivandrum’s legacy, ecosystem and demonstrate a bold, long-term vision for Infrastructure, Health, Tourism, Education and Urban Development. The Mayor must be capable of coordinating State and Union government projects, ensuring timely execution and effective fund utilisation, without getting trapped in narrow political issues, said the appeal.
