Global standingThe latest edition of the QS World University Rankings reflects Chandigarh University's continued presence among globally ranked higher education institutions. Continuing its remarkable rise among the world's leading higher education institutions, Chandigarh University (CU) has made impressive strides in the latest edition of prestigious QS World University Rankings 2027 by securing an overall world rank of 526, an increase of 49 ranks as compared to 575th rank in QS’ 2026 Rankings.This is for the fifth consecutive year that Chandigarh University’s global rankings have witnessed an impressive surge with CU’s world rank going up by an impressive 274 ranks -- from the 800th rank in 2023 to 526th in 2027’s Rankings. As per the latest QS World University Rankings, with All India Rank of 13 among all universities in the country as compared to 16th rank in 2026’s rankings, Chandigarh University now ranks among the top 1% of universities in India and the top 2% of universities in the World, underscoring its growing reputation as a leading institution of higher learning, both in India and globally.

Rankings by indicatorsChandigarh University’s top ranking, the QS World University Rankings 2027 is based on its strong performance across most of performance indicators including Employer Reputation, International Research Network, Academic Reputation, International Faculty Ratio and International Faculty Ratio.Employer reputationIn the Employer Reputation indicator, which measures the reputation of institutions and their programmes among employers, Chandigarh University has shown exceptional performance by securing 2nd Rank among private universities in India.

This reputation among employers is evident from the high demand for Chandigarh University graduates in the corporate sector which makes Chandigarh University a top choice for MNCs.

In 2025, over 1300 top notch global and Indian Companies turned up at CU campus with over 10,000 job offers across diverse streams.Over 350 MNCs including Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Hewlett Packard, SAP Labs, Samsung, L&T, Arcesium, Wipro, Flipkart recruited a record 3750 engineering students of Chandigarh University with a CU student securing an international package of Rs 1.7 Crore while Rs 60 LPA remained highest national package. While Microsoft (Rs 50 LPA) and Amazon (Rs 60 LPA) remained among top recruiters, over 50 Companies offered package of over Rs 15 LPA, 100 companies offered over Rs 10 LPA2. Over 400 leading MNCs including Amazon, Flipkart, IBM, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Danone Foods, KPMG, Reliance Industries, Bank of America, VIVO, ICICI Bank and ITC offered 1427 jobs to CU’s MBA students. Over 118 Chain Hotels, Airlines, and Tour & Travel Management companies, including The Oberoi Group, The Grand, JW Marriott, Radisson, Hotel Lalit, Hotel Taj, The Claridges and Hyatt Regency, Indigo, Jet Airlines, Vistara, Spice Jet and Cox & King, offered 343 jobs to Chandigarh University’s Tourism and Hospitality Management students in 20252.

Academic reputation In Academic Reputation indicator, which assesses the quality of teaching and research undergone by the university through a global survey, Chandigarh University secured 1st rank among all private universities and 491st rank in the world as compared to 561st rank in 2026 which is an increase of 70 ranks as per QS World University Rankings 2027. This ever growing academic reputation has helped the Chandigarh University make rapid strides in India’s educational landscape with its industry tailored new age programs.

Of these, more than 5,800 patents have been published, while over 260 have been granted across various domains. In 2024-25 alone, Chandigarh University students filed 743 patents, 770 of such patents were published and 49 patents were granted3.
