Eleven-year-old Indian prodigy Charvi Anilkumar scripted history on Wednesday as she breached the 2300 ELO ranking to become the second youngest girl to do so.

Charvi stands only behind the legendary Hungarian chess star Judith Polgar, who accomplished the feat at a younger age, and earned the FM title.

Esteemed chess coach RB Ramesh took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to laud the youngster with a post that read, “Hearty congratulations to 11year old Charvi Anilkumar for crossing 2300 FIDE elo! Second youngest girl in the World to do so after the legendary Judit Polgar."

Charvi also regained her spot the top spot for girls under 11 across the world by overtaking Alanna Berikkyzy. Charvi is also the No. 1 eleven-year-old in India overall, ahead of all the boys in the age category.

Charvi has been creating ripples in the world of chess and was also the recipient of the the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, the highest civilian honour for children in India, by President of India Droupadi Murmu in January.

The wunderkind, who has been playing chess ever since she was all of five years of age, also credited the game for improving her focus.

“It has strengthened my memory, increased my concentration, bettered my calculations and helped retain my focus," she had said.

The Bengaluru-based prodigy also added,  “I am not focused on awards. I’m only working on my performance for the future matches."
