Chidambaram town to get new link road to ease traffic congestion

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday announced the construction of a new link road along the Thillai Amman canal and Khan Sahib canal in Chidambaram town to ease traffic congestion. The link road would come up at a cost of ₹20 crore.

According to the official release, Srimushnam, bifurcated from the erstwhile Kattumannarkovil taluk, would be declared as part of the Cauvery Delta. The government also announced a new residential school for Scheduled Tribe children at Arisiperiyankuppam in Cuddalore block.

The Chief Minister also announced the desilting of the Veeranam tank and improvement of tourist amenities in the tank at a cost of ₹10 crore. A Skill Development Centre for training Adi-dravidars and Scheduled Tribe students would be established at Kooduvelichavady, the release said.
