A person was allegedly murdered over personal reasons in Mudigere, Chikkamagaluru, on March 1.
Syed Javed, 48, who ran a garage on Belur Road in the town, was allegedly assaulted by an individual named Raju around 9.30 a.m on the day. Javed, who was seriously hurt, was taken to the government hospital in Mudigere, where he was declared dead. According to the police, the accused assaulted Javed following an argument over repair work.
The Mudigere police registered the case based on a statement made by Javed’s wife, Jainabi.
Following the murder, Javed’s son Syed Ashir, 26, entered the police station holding a knife, allegedly to attack the person who was arrested by the police in connection with the murder. The police managed to stop him.
The Mudigere police registered a case against Ashir, based on a complaint filed by Puttaswamy, a head constable at the station.
