Chinchinada–Dindi bridge closed for repairs

Vehicular movement on the Chinchinada-Dindi bridge, across the Vasista branch of the river Godavari has been suspended for 72 hours due to maintenance works. The bridge, which is part of the National Highway 216, connects Chinchinada in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Konaseema district with Dindi in West Godavari district. 

On Wednesday, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar announced the temporary closure of the bridge. He also inspected the Annampalli aqueduct in Mummudivaram mandal from where floodwater is surging into the river Godavari. 

At Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage in Dowleswaram, inflows have crossed eight lakh cusecs, with 4,800 cusecs being released into the Godavari delta through the canal systems.
