Moments before the deadly crash in Udaipur
Four people were killed and two others critically injured after two cars collided on the Ahmedabad Bypass in the Savina police station area of Udaipur in the early hours of January 17.
The accident occurred at around 3 am when six friends were travelling in a car. According to sources, the occupants pleaded for help for nearly 10 minutes after the crash.
By the time people reached the spot, four of the friends had died, while two were found seriously injured and writhing in pain inside the car.
A video recorded before the accident has surfaced, showing the driver, identified as Sher Mohammad, driving the car at speeds of 100 to 120 kmph and later accelerating to 140 kmph.
The video shows that the car met with the accident just 1 minute and 10 seconds after the recording began.
During this time, one of the men sitting in the back seat is repeatedly seen asking the driver not to drive at a speed of 140 kmph.
The collision turned the celebrations of a friend’s birthday into mourning. After the accident, few occupants inside were heard crying out in pain and pleading for help.
Both cars were completely mangled in the early morning accident on Saturday.
The group had attended a ‘Mehfil-e-Milad’ programme near Nela Talab in the Savina area and had set out in the car to have tea at a place a short distance away when the accident took place.
