Cloudburst reported in Kullu (Credits: X)
A cloudburst incident was reported in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu on Friday, according to the information provided by the Central Water Commission, Mohal.
So far, no reports of loss of life have been received. According to the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kullu, the situation remains under control and is currently normal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued a heavy rain alert for several districts of Himachal Pradesh. A yellow alert is also in place for several areas, including the Kangra, Una, and Sirmaur districts.
“On August 9, a Yellow Alert has been issued for Kangra, Una, and Sirmaur districts for heavy rainfall. Rainfall activity is expected to pick up again from the night of August 10 and continue through the morning of August 11," Sandeep Kumar Sharma, Senior Scientist at the IMD Shimla Centre told ANI.
