CM calls for stronger anti-drug campaign & skill training for disabled persons

Bhopal: Chief minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday directed departments to work in close coordination to strengthen the anti-drug campaign and urged that adolescents and youth be made aware of the harmful effects of substance abuse before they become vulnerable to addiction.Chairing a review meeting of the department of social justice and empowerment of disabled persons at the state secretariat, Yadav said awareness material on drug abuse should be included in school and college curricula to build a strong social movement against addiction.He also directed officials to promote employment opportunities for persons with disabilities in the private sector and organise skill development programmes suited to their abilities.Yadav further said all government buildings should be made barrier-free to ensure easy access and mobility for persons with disabilities. He also stressed the need to include suitable content in school curricula to build sensitivity and awareness about persons with disabilities among children from an early age.
