Indore: Chief minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday launched a massive environmental campaign at Border Security Force campus in Budaniya village of Indore, aiming to plant 21 lakh trees and install 51,000 rooftop rainwater harvesting units across the district.In alignment with the national ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, the CM initiated the drive by planting an orange sapling in memory of his late mother Leela Bai Yadav.To ensure high survival rates, the campaign utilizes mature saplings standing between 8 and 10 feet tall. Over the next three days, more than one lakh forest-grade saplings are scheduled to be planted within the BSF campus perimeter.On the occasion, the CM presented cash awards of Rs 2 lakh each to two BSF personnel deployed in anti-Naxal operations.Urban development and housing minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the ecological drive has transitioned into a public movement, drawing community participation across the Malwa economic corridor to establish long-term environmental sustainability.
