CM Sai pitches Chhattisgarh to Korea’s largest trade body 'KITA' for investment

RAIPUR: Seeking to fast-track industrial growth, Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai met South Korea’s largest trade body Korea International Trade Association (KITA) chairman Jin Sik Yoon and vice-president Kim Ki Hyun in Seoul on Thursday, presenting the state’s Industrial Policy 2024–30 and inviting partnerships for investment.

KITA, a trade body with over 77,000 member companies—expressed interest in exploring opportunities in the state. “Our ties with South Korea are not merely economic but also cultural and historical,” Sai said. “This dialogue opens new doors for collaboration in investment, technology, and skill development. It will provide opportunities for Chhattisgarh’s youth in modern industries and accelerate the state’s industrial growth,” CM said. According to the state delegation, Korean companies showed keen interest in food processing, electronics, automobiles, steel and renewable energy. KITA’s leadership conveyed that firms are enthusiastic about exploring investments and would move towards concrete partnerships in the near term. Sai said collaboration would translate into jobs and market access while lifting the quality and competitiveness of local industry through technology transfer. Highlighting human capital, CM noted that partnerships with Korean firms would expand skilling and technical training, benefiting farmers, workers and local entrepreneurs alike.
