BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra has alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has lost the confidence of his party MLAs and the repeated visits of Congress party’s general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala to Karnataka indicate significant changes in the coming days.

Speaking to press persons during his visit to Shivamogga on July 7, Mr. Vijayendra said Mr. Surjewala, who is in charge of Congress party affairs in Karnataka, had been visiting the State often.

“Mr. Surjewala comes to state with an agenda. He has come once again for a three-day visit. It is clear that he will be seeking the opinion of MLAs. These developments show that Mr. Siddaramaiah has lost the confidence of his MLAs. Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar’s supporters claim that he has the support of 100 legislators. The recent statements by Congress MLAs B.R. Patil and Raju Kage clearly state the situation in the party. The CM has lost people’s confidence as well,” he stated.

Further, Mr. Vijayendra said he would not comment on who would replace Mr. Siddaramaiah as the CM. “The administration has collapsed in the State, and there is no hope of ensuring development even if there is change in guard. No matter who replaces Mr. Siddaramaiah, he cannot ensure development as the State’s financial condition is very bad,” he said.
