CNG pump salesman dragged by car over fuel payment, 1 held
Meerut: A taxi driver from Noida was arrested for allegedly dragging a CNG pump salesman for nearly 100 metres with a car after being confronted over fleeing without paying for fuel worth Rs 600 at a petrol pump in Bulandshahr district, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place around 11 pm on June 27 at a petrol pump in Bachawali village under Chola police station limits.As per the complaint lodged by petrol pump owner Sachin Kumar, two men — Dushyant Kumar (26) alias Golu and Mohit Kumar (22), both residents of Bulandshahr — arrived in a car and allegedly tried to drive away without paying after refuelling. When salesman Manmohan Sharma (28) stopped them and demanded payment, one of the accused allegedly grabbed his hand and dragged him along the road for nearly 100 metres as the vehicle sped away.The complaint further alleged that the accused later threw Sharma onto the road, leaving him seriously injured, and attempted to run him over before fleeing the spot.Police have registered an FIR under Sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 109 (attempt to murder) of the BNS.Circle officer Deepak Kumar said Mohit Kumar, who works as a taxi driver in Noida, was arrested and sent to jail. “Efforts are on to arrest the second accused, Dushyant alias Golu,” he said.
