Chatra: Union coal minister G Kishan Reddy on Friday visited Central Coalfields Limited’s (CCL) Magadh-Sanghamitra coal mining area in Tandwa of Chatra district. During the inspection, Reddy said that strengthening the nation’s energy sector and making India the world’s third-largest economy are the govt’s priorities.
“The coal sector is being given a new direction with these goals in mind,” he said. The minister reviewed the mining operations at the Magadh project and directed officials to take strict measures against illegal mining while ensuring safety standards. As part of CCL’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Reddy also distributed sewing machines to displaced women trained under skill development programs, aimed at making them self-reliant.
