Coast Guard intercepts Pakistani vessel inside India’s EEZ; 11 detained for illegal entry

The Coast Guard has detained a Pakistani fishing vessel found operating inside India’s maritime limits and taken 11 crew members into custody, officials said on Thursday (December 11, 2025).

According to authorities, the apprehended fishermen were later transferred to the Jakhau Marine police station in Gujarat for further inquiry.

Gujarat Defence PRO said in a post on X that the Coast Guard intercepted the boat on Wednesday (December 10, 2025) inside India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). He noted that the operation reflects the force’s ongoing maritime patrol efforts and India’s commitment to safeguarding its sea borders while adhering to international maritime regulations.

“In a swift operation on 10 Dec 25, @IndiaCoastGuard apprehended a #Pakistani fishing boat with 11 crew inside the #Indian #EEZ. This interdiction underscores #BhartiyaTatrakshak’s sustained maritime operations and India’s commitment to securing its maritime frontiers while maintaining robust enforcement of international maritime laws within the MZI,” the post said.

“Continuous vigilance across India’s maritime domain remains a cornerstone of our national maritime security strategy,” the post read.
