Internet’s newest viral sensation, the Cockroach Janta Party’s “iconic" website, was taken down on Saturday, founder Abhijeet Dipke claimed, as he accused the BJP-led Centre of acting in a “dictatorial" manner.

Dipke said nearly 10 lakh people had signed up as members of the bizarre-yet-viral digital movement, which quickly became popular among Millennials and Gen Z users for its sarcasm, memes and satirical take on the system.

Taking to X, Dipke alleged that the government was behind the move and described it as an attack on online expression.
