Collector calls for greener NH-16 stretch between airport and Budameru

Krishna District Collector D.K. Balaji has called for measures to enhance greenery along the National Highway (NH-16), from the Vijayawada Airport in Gannavaram to the Budameru bridge.

The Collector, after walking the stretch from the airport to the bridge on Thursday, identified potholes on the highway and instructed officials to ensure that repairs are carried out at the earliest.

He also directed them to undertake beautification works of the highway, including placing plants on both sides of the road, and replacing non-functional streetlights with new ones. He said: “The State government wants greenery to be improved on the stretch between the airport and the bridge.”

The Collector was accompanied by Amaravati Development Corporation chairperson Lakshmi Parthasarathy, National Highway project director Vidyasagar, Gannavaram tehsildar Sivayya and others.
