Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan inaugurated the Sri Ram Navami festival celebrations in Belagavi on Thursday.

A colourful procession was taken through the main streets of the city. Young children dressed as Ram, Sita and Hanuman were taken around in open jeeps. Young men dressed as Chhatrapati Shivaji and his associates rode horses.

The main attraction was the Hula Hoop performance by Mumbai-based artist Shivani Dhopavkar.

She gave the performance in the beginning of the procession at the Kittur Channamma Circle.

Her performance in Mumbai at the Gudi Padwa procession has been viral.
