Confusion at Mee Seva centres as fee hike kicks in, clarity yet to reach the ground

A day after the Telangana government’s revision of Mee Seva user charges came into effect, confusion, rather than compliance, marked the ground reality across several centres in Hyderabad on Thursday.

At multiple Mee Seva centres in areas such as West Marredpally, Khairatabad and Paradise, staff were seen fielding questions from citizens with little more than uncertainty to offer. While the government has announced a hike of over 77% in service charges effective April 1, most centres have yet to display updated price charts, leaving both operators and users in the dark.
