Congress complaint is childish: Ferreira

Panaji: Aldona Congress MLA Carlos Ferreira described the party’s call for disciplinary action against him as “childish and immature”.State Congress president Amit Patkar had written to the AICC seeking disciplinary action against Ferreira for not attending a Congress event and for attending the birthday celebrations of Curchorem BJP MLA Nilesh Cabral.

Ferreira said he and Cabral have known each other much before Cabral became an MLA“I have seen the complaint...if you read the complaint, you will laugh because it is very childish, it is very immature. If such an issue was there, he (Patkar) could have called me and sorted things out,” said Ferreira.The Aldona MLA said he was unable to attend Congress’ Samvidhan Bachao Andolan at Curchorem since he had a case in the high court that concluded at 5pm while Congress’ event was at 4.30pm. “As and when the disciplinary committee sends me a notice, I will reply. I haven’t done anything wrong,” said Ferreira.
