HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court on Monday issued notices in a contempt case to chief secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, former special CS (education) N Sridhar and public libraries director S Srinivasachary asking them to appear before the court on July 24 to explain the reason why they failed to implement a court order in making payments to part-time sweepers.

Petitioners counsel Gurram Srinivas said that officials had earlier received notices ordered by the court on March 28 but preferred not to respond.
