Cop held for assault at Sanquelim

Bicholim: A police constable from Kudnem, Sanquelim, Milesh Arjun Gurav (39) was remanded to two days’ police custody by the judicial magistrate of first class, Bicholim, on Saturday.

Gurav, attached to the Valpoi police station, is an accused in an assault case at Sanquelim.Bicholim police said that the accused trespassed into Nitikesh Parsekar’s Gokulwadi Sanquelim home on Friday and threatened to kill Parsekar’s wife, Tamanna. When Parsekar intervened, the accused assaulted him with a bamboo stick on his head, causing injuries. Tamanna then filed a complaint with the police.Police said that the complainant had borrowed money from the accused on credit, who repeatedly pressured her to repay it. Bicholim police are investigating under PI Vijay Rane Sardesai’s guidance.
