Cop suspended for corrupt practices in Palamu

Daltonganj: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police posted at the Nawa Bazar police station, Rajesh Baitha, was put under suspension by SP (Palamu) Reeshma Ramesan on charges of alleged corruption.

Baitha was suspended on Wednesday evening. Nawa Bazar police station is located along NH-98.A statement from the SP’s office about the suspension said, “There is a suspicious video clip of Baitha accepting illegal gratification from a truck driver and SDPO (Bishrampur) A Tuti investigated the matter and found evidence of malpractice against Baitha.”The statement further said, “The SP has ordered the sergeant major of Daltonganj police line to withdraw the entire fleet of the constabulary deployed at the Nawa Bazar police station, and a new team will be deployed in its place.”The statement appealed to the public to report such malpractice by police officers on the phone number 7070452955.
