Costco has recalled the sparkling wine because the bottles could shatter without warning. "There is a risk of unopened bottles shattering, even when not handled or in use," Costco announced in a letter to its members.How to identify the recalled products?Look for the label on your sparkling wine bought from Costco. The product name is Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene. Also, look for the item code mentioned above.Where were the affected products distributed?The affected products was sold between April 25, 2025, and August 26, 2025. This sparkling wine was sold in 12 states - Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin.What to do if you have the recalled product?

If you have purchased this affected item, do not pop it open.

"If you have an unopened bottle, do not open it. Dispose of the bottle immediately (do not return the item) by wrapping the unopened bottle in paper towels and placing it in a plastic bag before placing it in the garbage to avoid risk from shattered glass. You will be entitled to a full refund of the purchase price upon returning this letter to your nearest Costco location," they said in the announcement."We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused," the announcement continued.
