Country boats have been deployed across nine routes where the road networks was submerged in Chintoor agency, Alluri Sitharama Raju district to assist flood-affected people cross the swollen Sabari river in the event of any emergency.

In an official release, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA-Chintoor) project officer Shubham Nokwal said: “At least nine road networks remain cut-off due to huge inflows from the river Sabari into the river Godavari in Chintoor agency. Country boats and tractors have been made available in those routes to attend to support emergency movement and assist in relief works.”

Mr. Shubham advised people not to cross the river Sabari without assistance from local authorities, who are posted and engaged in relief operations.

Meanwhile, the inflow of floodwater has been raising in the river Godavari upstream of the Polavaram irrigation project. According to the Godavari flood bulletin, the inflow of floodwater was above 7.52 lakh cusecs at Sir Arthur Cotton barrage at Dowleswaram in East Godavari district. Over 6,200 cusecs of water is being released into the canals in the Godavari delta.
