 2 KKRTC buses seized over compensation delay

Bidar: Two buses belonging to the Aurad depot of the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) were seized on Friday after the corporation allegedly failed to comply with a court order directing it to pay compensation to the family of an accident victim.The seizure was carried out on the orders of the senior civil judge and JMFC court in Aurad. The two buses have been parked within the court premises.The case relates to a road accident near Kamalnagar on Feb 28, 2024, in which a KKRTC bus collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two people.Following the accident, Suvarna, the wife of the deceased Veerabhadra, approached the court seeking compensation. After hearing the case, the court directed the corporation to pay her Rs 36.6 lakh as compensation.As the court order was not complied with, the court ordered the seizure of two KKRTC buses.
