A Bihar court on Saturday granted interim relief to educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as “Khan Sir", in connection with a case lodged against him. While hearing his anticipatory bail petition, the court reiterated its earlier direction that “no coercive action" should be taken against him until the next hearing and asked the police to refrain from adopting any harsh measures in the interim.

The anticipatory bail plea is scheduled to come up again for further hearing on the next date fixed by the court.

The case stems from a complaint filed on Wednesday by Roshan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu GS Academy, at the Kadamkuan police station. In his application, Anand sought action against Faisal Khan over the death of his brother, Prince Yadav, at a hotel in Nepal and an alleged assault on him during his time in Beur Central Jail.

Anand met station house officer (SHO) Janmejay Rai and spent nearly two hours at the police station. His lawyer joined him shortly afterwards, while supporters gathered outside the premises.

The latest development comes shortly after Anand obtained bail on Monday in the June 2 coaching centre attack case involving allegations of violence at Khan Global Studies. Security personnel were also reportedly assaulted during the incident.

Although Anand has secured bail, his brother Abhishek and associate Gaurav remain in judicial custody. Their bail pleas were recently rejected by a Judicial Magistrate First Class court. According to their counsel, fresh applications will be moved before the district judge after certified copies of the order are obtained.
