The Pune Sessions Court has issued a notice to Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, directing her to file a reply in connection with a cyber defamation case involving objectionable posts against her.

In April, the Pune Cyber Police received a complaint alleging that several individuals had defamed Amruta Fadnavis by making objectionable remarks on social media. The complaint claimed that the accused used sexual and derogatory language in comment sections, causing “personal harm and insult to women.”

Based on the complaint, police registered a case against seven individuals. Of these, five have been arrested, while two remain absconding. The arrested accused have filed for bail in the Pune Sessions Court.

During the bail hearing, the court instructed Amruta Fadnavis to either appear personally or submit her response through her legal representative.
