CPM Alappuzha unit hits out at Sudhakaran

Kottayam: CPM Alappuzha district committee exhorted all those who believe in democracy to protest against rebel MLA G Sudhakaran’s remarks targeting party state secretary M V Govindan using uncivil language.

“It seems Sudhakaran believes that his long stint in CPM state committee and his current position as a UDF-backed MLA have earned him a licence to speak as he pleased,” said district committee member R Nazar.Nazar recalled that during his time in the party, Sudhakaran played a role in pushing disciplinary action against several senior leaders and coined the term ‘class traitor’ for those deemed to have betrayed the party.

He said it was Sudhakaran’s own record of ‘class betrayal’ that prompted Govindan to apply the same label to him.“When Sudhakaran used that very term to target others while wielding influence within the party, why does he now react with outrage at being called the same?” he asked, accusing the MLA of aligning with ‘class enemies’ to weaken the communist movement.
