Two minor boys were allegedly tied to a school window with a rope and beaten with slippers after a cricket ball accidentally struck a woman in Narenur Tanda, Badami taluk, Bagalkot district, Karnataka. The incident took place on June 21.

Prajwal (14) and Sushanth were playing cricket on a school ground when the ball hit a woman nearby. Angered by this, three individuals allegedly dragged the boys to a school classroom, tied them to a window with a rope, and assaulted them with slippers. Both boys sustained injuries and were hospitalised.

After learning of the incident, the boys’ parents filed a complaint with the police. Kerur police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Three accused — Renuka Gopal Lamani, Basavaraj Gopal Lamani and Abhi Shivappa Lamani — were subsequently taken into custody.

A case has been registered at Kerur Police Station under Sections 115(2), 118(1), 133, 49, 352 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
