Ranchi is electrified with excitement as the T20 World Cup final approaches. From young cricketers honing their skills at local academies to shop owners streaming the match on their phones, everyone is rallying together to support Team India. Coaches and teammates are optimistic, believing that the players’ passion will secure a second consecutive championship title.
Ranchi: Excitement over Sunday’s T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand continued to build in the city as cricket enthusiasts prepared to watch the game with their friends and family members.Manik Ghosh, a coach who runs his cricket academy in Morabadi, said he will watch the match with his students. “As the final match is on Sunday, the academy is planning to have a get-together so that all the trainees can watch the match and analyse it, along with learning new tactics from the players of both teams. After Thursday’s high-voltage semi-final match, enthusiasm is running high among the young lads, and they are eagerly looking forward to the final,” Ghosh said on Thursday.
Excitement was high among businessmen and traders as well. Arun Kumar, a grocery shopkeeper in Lalpur area, usually keeps his shop closed on Sundays. “But this Sunday, I plan to keep the shop open and watch the match along with my friends at the shop. Although I do not have a big screen at the shop, along with other cricket enthusiasts, it will be more enjoyable to watch even on a small screen,” Kumar said.Monu Kumar Singh, the coach of Jharkhand U-16 men’s cricket team and a close friend of Ishan Kishan, will watch the game at the JSCA International Stadium Complex.
“I have high hopes for the team and Ishan for the final match. I spoke to him over the phone after the semi-final match as well. He said that the entire team is high on enthusiasm to clinch the trophy and bag the defending champion’s title,” Monu said.
