Patna: The opposition continued its protest on the legislative assembly complex on Friday and attacked the state govt over the law and order issue in the state. However, responding to the opposition’s allegations, deputy CM and home minister Samrat Choudhary said the state enjoys “good governance and the rule of law”.
He advised the opposition members of the state legislature to raise questions in the appropriate forum of the House rather than on the streets, and the govt is ready to answer everything.Commenting on the recent incidents of crime, Samrat said anyone who commits a crime must go to jail. Taking a dig at the opposition, he said criminals fear the govt and are fleeing the state every day.The opposition raised questions about the rising crimes against women.
RJD leader and former CM Rabri Devi demanded Samrat’s resignation and said the govt is incapable of providing security to women. She demanded immediate action in the case of a girl student whose death is shrouded in mystery after she fell down from the roof of a coaching centre in Patna on Thursday.Senior JD(U) leader and RWD minister Ashok Choudhary alleged Rabri Devi only wants him dead and Samrat Choudhary to be distraught.
Responding to Rabri devi’s demand for Samrat’s resignation, Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief and MP Upendra Kushwaha said, “She says whatever comes to her mind. In reality, RJD leaders are unable to digest their defeat. The people of Bihar have given them such a setback, but they still cannot accept it, that is their issue.”
