On August 22, a CRPF jawan had similarly shot himself with his service weapon after he returned from leave, in Minpa region. In another case on July 30, a CRPF constable of the 22nd battalion, hailing from Bhojpur in Bihar, took his own life at Minagachal camp in Bijapur district.
On July 13, a soldier died by suicide in Raipur.CRPF officers in Sukma said that the contents of the recovered suicide note would be crucial in determining the exact reason behind Garg’s death. His family has been informed, and the body will be handed over after post-mortem formalities. While most of the suicide cases occur after jawans return from leave often reflecting unresolved personal or family issues, police officials point to family disputes, and communication gaps as key triggers behind suicides among paramilitary personnel deployed in Left-Wing Extremism-affected zones.
