CSJMU to host Dikshotsav-2026 from July 1; convocation on July 9

Kanpur: The 41st convocation ceremony of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur, will be held on July 9, 2026.Prior to this, a week-long event titled ‘Dikshotsav-2026’ will be organised from July 1, in which students from the university campus and affiliated colleges will participate.During the week-long event, various programmes related to sports, arts, literature, education, culture, folk traditions and intellectual discourse will be organised.Scheduled to begin at 9 am, these events will give special prominence to indigenous sports such as kho-kho, kabaddi and tug of war.The competitions will be organised by the Physical Education department at the university stadium and at the departmental premises. On the same day, painting, rangoli and sketching competitions will be held from 11 am to 4 pm.Similarly, on subsequent days, a women’s conference, educational seminars, speech events, an alumni meet, patriotic song and folk dance performances, and poetry and essay writing competitions will be organised.
