Kalaburagi: The tenure of Central University of Karnataka (CUK) Vice-Chancellor Prof Battu Satyanarayana has been extended by one year, or until a new vice-chancellor is appointed, following an order issued by the Union ministry of education, CUK registrar Prof RR Biradar said.In a press statement, Biradar said: “We are pleased to inform that the tenure of CUK Vice-Chancellor Prof Battu Satyanarayana has been extended by one year. The ministry of education, Govt of India, has issued an order extending his term for one year or until the appointment of the next vice-chancellor.”Biradar said Prof Satyanarayana completed his five-year tenure as vice-chancellor on July 25 and made significant contributions to the university’s academic and infrastructural development during the period.Under his leadership, the university implemented several key initiatives, including recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff, establishment of new departments, introduction of academic programmes, construction of academic buildings and student hostels, setting up of modern laboratories, sustainable campus development projects, and creation of training and placement centres, he said.He added that special emphasis was placed on creating a conducive academic environment for students. According to Biradar, the extension of Prof Satyanarayana’s tenure is recognition of his contribution to the university’s overall growth and development.
