Patna: With cyber threats growing more sophisticated amid the rapid integration of digital technologies into daily life, Director General of Police (operations and special branch) Kundan Krishnan on Monday stressed that cyber security is no longer merely a technological concern but a critical issue linked to national security, economic stability and public welfare.Addressing the inaugural session of a two-day Cyber Security Training Programme organised by the Cyber Crime and Security Unit (CCSU), Bihar, at Sardar Patel Bhawan in Patna, Krishnan described the present period as an “age of uncertainty”. He noted that key sectors including banking, e-commerce, communication, power supply, transportation and govt services are increasingly dependent on digital infrastructure, making cyberspace protection a major challenge for law enforcement agencies. He urged participants to take the training seriously and continuously upgrade their skills in line with emerging cybercrime trends, evolving technologies and modern digital investigation techniques.Additional Director General of Police Amrit Raj said Bihar Police has developed a robust institutional framework to tackle cybercrime. He highlighted the establishment of a dedicated CCSU at the state headquarters and cyber police stations in every district, which have strengthened the state’s response to cyber offences.

During the programme, experts from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) will train participants in cyber security, digital forensics, emerging crime trends, online financial fraud investigation and prevention of social media-related crimes.
