The Cyberabad Police on Friday announced a ₹1 lakh accidental insurance cover for 150 traffic marshals working under the Society for Cyberabad Security Council with an aim to improve the welfare and safety of citizen contributors to traffic management.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh said the insurance cover, sponsored by Score10, was intended to provide financial security to traffic marshals and their families in the event of any unforeseen incident while on duty. He described traffic marshals as an integral part of the city’s traffic management system, noting that they perform their duties with full legal authority, often in high-risk road environments.

The Commissioner also announced that awareness programmes such as ‘No Honking’ campaigns and basic legal training would be conducted for traffic marshals.

Score10 chairman Narayana Swaroop said traffic marshals have been performing their duties with exceptional commitment, with some even saving lives during critical moments. He said the one-year accidental insurance cover of ₹1 lakh would offer protection during medical emergencies.

The meeting was attended by senior police officers, representatives of Score10, SCSC officials and traffic marshals from across the Cyberabad Commissionerate.
