Cyient Foundation has signed MoUs with a clutch of State Universities and key government institutions in Telangana for building a robust and scalable ecosystem for innovation, entrepreneurship, employability and future-ready skills development.

It proposes to invest around ₹7.50 crore over a three-year period across the participating institutions, the CSR arm of IT firm Cyient said, announcing MoUs with Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), Palamuru University and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, along with the State Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE) and the Commissionerate of Technical Education (CTE).

Under the collaboration with CCE and CTE, 152 government degree colleges and 59 government polytechnics will be covered to extend access to industry exposure, aligned to emerging industry needs, including Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, as well as skilling and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Three centres, under a rural skill development initiative, will be established in Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar and Warangal to train around 600 youth annually, with focus on high-demand sectors such as healthcare, electronics manufacturing and digital commerce. An entrepreneurship development programme (EDP) to cover more than 4,000 students annually and an initiative to support 20-25 startups annually through incubation and mentorship also figure in the programmes.

With strengthening industry-academia-government collaboration across Telangana at the centre, the proposed programmes will drive entrepreneurship development, faculty capability building, innovation-led ecosystems, mentorship and employability interventions at scale.

“We must create ecosystems that go beyond education, ones that inspire innovation, nurture entrepreneurship and build real-world capabilities, Cyient founder chairman B.V.R. Mohan Reddy said.
