 'You get scared and worried'

Danish Pandor opened up about avoiding typecasting after impactful performances in 'Dhurandhar', 'Main Vaapas Aaunga', and 'Chhaava', admitting he's consciously chasing diverse roles across mediums. "I have to constantly prove to myself that I can do other roles," he said, adding he's open to intense characters different from his past work.

Danish Pandor has spoken about the difficulty of steering clear of typecasting after turning in performances that left a mark, revealing that he's making a deliberate effort to take on varied roles across different mediums.

Talking about how a standout character can shape the kind of offers an actor receives, Pandor admitted that this often means being approached for similar roles time and again.

Danish Pandor on his impactful characters

In an interview with Variety India, Danish said, "You get scared and worried. The recent characters that I have played, including Uzair Baloch in ‘Dhurandhar,’ Afzal in ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ and Ikhlaas Khan in ‘Chhaava,’ have left a lot of impact.

A lot of people from the industry tend to cast you for similar kinds of roles. But I have to make sure that I don’t end up doing that. The three characters were different, but all are of the same community.

The characterization was different, in terms of tonality. As an actor, my approach for them was different. But I also have to try new things.”

Danish Pandor on proving his versatility

The actor stresses that while he's put in the effort to bring distinct shades to each of his roles, it's ultimately up to him to prove his range. “You also have to constantly prove to yourself that you can do other roles. At this point of time, I want to explore all the mediums. I want to tell people, ‘You have seen me in this. But I am going to be good in that as well.”
