Daughter-in-law, mother-in-law duo to helm Agarwada panchayat

Mapusa: Agarwada-Chopdem panchayat has ushered in a new leadership chapter with a daughter-in-law and mother-in-law duo taking the top two posts of the panchayat.Sangeeta Naik was elected unopposed as the deputy sarpanch, joining her daughter-in-law, Shilpa, who currently serves as the sarpanch.Sangeeta emerged as the sole candidate for the position, leading to her unopposed victory. Her return to the leadership fold is backed by significant administrative experience, having previously served as the sarpanch.This internal transition within the existing panchayat has become a talking point in the taluka, highlighting a unique blend of experience and new-age leadership in a single household.
