Day-long Vasanta Gaana Lahari in Dharwad on May 30

Noted musicians, including Hindustani vocalist Kaushiki Chakraborty, will be performing during the Vasanta Gaana Lahari Sangeeta Mahotsava to be held at Sri Veerendra Heggade Kalakshetra at Sattur in Dharwad on May 30.

The music festival is being organised to pay musical tributes to legendary musicians from Dharwad, including Pt. Sawai Gandharva, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Basavaraj Rajguru, Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur, Gangubai Hangal and others.

Presented by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, the music festival will begin at 9.30 a.m. on May 30 and conclude at 9.30 p.m. Entry to the festival is free.

The main attraction of the festival is music concert by vocalist Kaushiki Chakraborty. It will be held in the concluding session from 7 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

A jugalbandi between vocalist Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi and flautist Pt. Praveen Godkhindi will begin at 4 p.m.

The other musicians performing during the music festival are vocalists Pt. Kumar Maradur, Pt. Aniruddh Aital, Pt. Nishad, Pt. Noushad, sitar exponent Anupama Bhagwat and tabla exponent Pt. Yashwanth Vaishnav.
