Akhilesh Yadav mourns half-brother Prateek Yadav, 38, son of Mulayam Singh Yadav, who died at Lucknow Civil Hospital, body sent for video recorded post mortem

Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expressed his grief at the demise of his half-brother Prateek Yadav on Wednesday.

Taking to X, Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “The demise of Shri Pratik Yadav ji is extremely heartbreaking! May God grant peace to the departed soul. Humble tribute!"

According to the officials, the 38-year-old Prateek Yadav died at Lucknow’s Civil Hospital. He was the husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav. His body was sent for a post-mortem examination.

According to the reports, Prateek Yadav, son of the late Samajwadi Party founder and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, was brought to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital in an unresponsive condition, and he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.

The post-mortem procedures will be done by a panel of three to four doctors and will be video recorded, as per the reports.

Speaking on Prateek Yadav’s death, Chief Medical Superintendent, Civil Hospital, Dr Devesh Chandra Pandey said, “He was brought dead at 5.55 am. The police were informed, after which the body was sent for a postmortem procedure."
