Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is set to attend her first “Jan Sunwai" programme on Tuesday at her camp office under heavy security, days after she was attacked. The interactive session with the public will take place at the Mukhya Mantri Jan Sewa Sadan from 8 am to 10 am.
Authorities said elaborate security arrangements were made, including the deployment of additional police personnel, both in uniform and plain clothes, as well as the use of a facial recognition system (FRS) van to screen people entering the venue. Women police officers were also stationed at the chief minister’s residence and around the venue to ensure safety.
Instructions were issued restricting unnecessary movement during the CM’s interactions to prevent overcrowding. Officers and security staff closely accompanied her throughout the event. Senior officials from the North District police were also on the ground to oversee the arrangements.
Officials stressed that the measures were designed to ensure that the Jan Sunwai was conducted in a systematic and secure manner, allowing citizens to raise their issues directly with the chief minister.
