The Delhi government will soon launch its flagship scheme to provide financial assistance to women. The scheme, which was known as “Mahila Samriddhi Yojana", has been renamed as “Delhi Lakshmi Yojana."

The scheme was announced by the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, but it could not be rolled out. The BJP, in its manifesto for the 2025 Delhi elections, promised to provide women with financial assistance. However, the Rekha Gupta government is yet to launch the scheme.

The scheme is likely to be launched in August this year on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.

Who Will Be Eligible For ‘Delhi Lakshmi Yojana’?

The women, aged 21 to 60 years, who are residents of Delhi for at least 10 years and belong to economical weaker section. To avail of the benefits, applicants must have no criminal record and their annual family income must not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.

How Much Money Will You Receive Under

A woman in Delhi will receive Rs 2,500 per month in their bank accounts under the scheme.

The government is yet to announce the documents required to enroll in the scheme.

Delhi Women Travel Scheme: ‘Pink Saheli Smart Card’ Deadline

As of August 1, the Delhi government has made it mandatory for women to obtain their “Pink Saheli Smart Card". If a woman does not have a “Pink Saheli Smart Card," she will not be able to avail the free bus travel scheme.

The existing paper-based pink tickets, which have been issued so far, will cease to end by July 31.

“Pink Saheli Smart Card" is part of the broader Centre’s ‘One Nation, One Card’ initiative through the Pink NCMC card. Under this, only women from Delhi will be eligible to travel for free on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses.
