Delhi-NCR residents woke up to fresh spells of rain on Monday morning, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a Yellow Alert, predicting that light showers, accompanied by thunderstorms, may continue throughout the day.
Several areas in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad witnessed light showers early Monday, with visuals showing rainfall and waterlogging across parts of the capital.
The weather department’s latest nowcast indicates that intermittent rain is likely to persist through the day, potentially disrupting traffic movement in the region.
“Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at many places of Delhi , NCR ( Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh, Bahadurgarh), Kaithal, Narwana, Rajaund, Assandh, Safidon, Barwala, Jind, Gohana, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, Sohana, Palwal, Nuh, Aurangabad, Hodal (Haryana) Jattari (U.P.) during next 2 hours," the Regional Met Centre New Delhi said today morning.
