The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested a Deputy Inspector of Survey and Land Records in Nalgonda district for demanding and accepting ₹15,000 bribe for issuing a survey report related to a land matter.
The accused, identified as G. Pavan Kumar, Deputy Inspector of Survey and Land Records, attached to the office of the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), Nalgonda, was trapped by ACB officials near the Collectorate while accepting the amount from a complainant.
According to the ACB, the official had initially demanded a bribe of ₹35,000 for issuing a survey report pertaining to land belonging to the complainant’s mother and aunt. Officials said he had already received ₹20,000 from the complainant earlier and was caught while accepting the remaining ₹15,000.
The tainted cash was recovered from the possession of the accused.
Following the arrest, the accused was produced before the special court for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
The case is under investigation. The identity of the complainant has been withheld by the ACB for security reasons.
