The Konda Bitragunta Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple tank will soon be renovated at a cost of ₹2.10 crore, sponsored by the VPR Foundation belonging to Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy. The temple will also get a new compound wall using the ₹1.65 crore-fund provided by the Endowments Department.
Mr. Prabhakar Reddy, along with his wife and Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy and Kavali MLA Dagumati Venkata Krishna Reddy, participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the upcoming works at the temple on Sunday.
Addressing the public, the MP said that the 800-year-old temple deserved better maintenance. He also hoped that the developmental works would be completed before the Brahmotsavams next year. Ms. Prashanthi Reddy, who is also a member of the TTD trust board, offered to moot the idea of establishing a ‘Veda Patashala’ here.
Meanwhile, Mr. Krishna Reddy recalled his efforts in securing funds to the tune of ₹15 crore for the development of the temple
