Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand inspected several rain-affected areas in Hyderabad, including Malkam Cheruvu and Tolichowki, on Saturday and directed police personnel across the State to remain on high alert in view of rainfall.

He held discussions with Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh regarding measures being taken to ensure public safety and maintain smooth traffic movement.

Mr. Anand also directed police officers in Hyderabad and other rain-affected districts of Telangana to remain prepared to respond to emergencies arising from the prevailing weather conditions. He asked field officers to maintain close coordination with district administrations, disaster response agencies and municipal authorities to provide timely assistance to the public.

Advising citizens to exercise caution during travel, the DGP urged people to avoid waterlogged stretches and follow advisories issued by the police and other government agencies.

Police said they are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to focus on public safety, traffic management and emergency response during the monsoon.
