Dhami inaugurates Rs 3. 7cr indoor sports complex in Roorkee

ROORKEE: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday inaugurated a state-of-the-art, air-conditioned indoor sports complex in Roorkee, nearly a year after its construction was completed.Developed by Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority at a cost of ₹3.75 crore, the two-story facility is spread over approximately two bighas of land near the Roorkee Roadways bus station.The complex features two badminton courts, dedicated areas for chess and carrom, a modern gymnasium, a TV lounge, a cafeteria and parking spaces. It will operate under a public-private partnership (PPP) model to serve as a training and recreation hub for local youth."This hi-tech sports complex will provide aspiring athletes a platform to hone their talent and skills," CM Dhami said during the inauguration.Earlier in the day, the CM joined BJP workers at the party's local office to listen to the 135th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly radio address, Mann Ki Baat. He also participated in a 'Yuva Shakti Samvad' interactive session discussing employment and development. Dhami noted that the govt's focus on employment is driving an encouraging trend of reverse migration across Uttarakhand.
