Dhanbad Cleans Up: Rani Talab Drive Promotes Environment Conservation & Public Space Maintenance

Dhanbad: The district administration on Saturday launched a special cleanliness and plantation drive at Rani Talab in the Dhaiya of the city.Senior officials, including deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan, SSP Prabhat Kumar and others took part in the drive, which was aimed at promoting cleanliness and environment conservation.Ranjan and Kumar, along with subdivisional officer Lokesh Barange, municipal commissioner Ashish Gangwar and deputy development commissioner Sunny Raj joined hands with civic workers and locals to clean the pond and its surrounding areas.They stepped into mud and collected garbage to send out the message of cleanliness and boost the morale of the sanitation workers of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation. Apart from cleaning the surroundings of Rani Talab, several saplings were also planted to spread awareness about environmental protection.

“The pond is located on one of the city’s major routes and the cleanliness drive aimed to set an example for maintaining public spaces,” the DC said.He further announced that one water body in each ward would be identified for a monthly cleanliness drive. “Wards performing the best in maintaining cleanliness would be given priority in the implementation of development schemes,” he said.
